| Notes: | It started off as a very early pre-sales model, and was a testing vehicle for Ford Motor Company. It had an on-board computer and extra fuel pipe which comes out at the back of the car for non-stop refuelling while it was whizzing round the track. It also has got a 1.8 Zeta engine fitted by F.M.C, and this is certainly the very first Zeta engine ever produced, which was installed in 1989 due to the development of the newer 1.8 XR2i and RS1800 series Fiestas. It spent three years at Ford before being given to Norwich City College in 1992, having covered only 10,000 miles from new. I believe that this is the lowest-mileage XR2i in the United Kingdom (Unless anyone knows different)
It has all the options available on the car, apart from the alloy wheels, and its still looking pretty presentable after all this time, and the best thing is that there is no rust anywhere! It still looks (and smells) like new. This car deserves to go back on the road (after some work to it!) |

| Modifications: | The modifications (By Ford) are - 1.8 Zeta engine - it has no markings at all on the rocker cover, not even a oil filler cap, just a rubber bung. Extra fuel pipe screwed to rear bumper, wishbones with plastic spacers to compensate for different dimensions, rear view mirror screwed to headlining - not bonded to windscreen, diagnostic plugs in engine bay, larger fuel/temp gauge needles, drilled holes in dashboard for computer and a couple of stickers on windscreen above rear view mirror - Ford ENG2 "Restricted Use Only" and the number 8. |
